The offical opening of the skate park took place on Thursday 1st April 2010. There was a BMX demonstration and freshments available and following some welcome speeches the chairman of East Sussex County Council cut the ribbon to open the park.
As many residents will remember there used to be a Skate Park in the town, situated at Piddinghoe Avenue Sports Park.
Over 100 people both young and old, signed a petition to replace the facility and this work has now been completed.
Nearly £100,000 was raised to fund the facility which will have floodlights on until 10.30pm.
The area is quite large and should prove to be a good skate park for residents and neighbours of the Town to enjoy.
