The Town's War Memorial
Peacehaven is the only major town on the coastal strip between Eastbourne & Brighton without a war memorial. However, ambitious plans are now being progressed and funding plans being developed by the Town Council to build a war memorial for the Town in time for the Queens Jubilee and the 2012 remembrance day. It is proposed that the war memorial will be located in Meridian Park for which permission has been secured from Lewes District Council. Students from City College, Brighton, many of which live in Peacehaven, will help to build and landscape the memorial and Chandlers Building Supplies have kindly agreed to supply the materials. Whilst the Council will be investing money to kick start the project it is hoped that the Co-op and the Royal British Legion will also provide generous donations towards the build and installation.
If you would like to help please do not hesitate to contact the Town Council Office. There is a donation box placed in the Meridian Centre if you wish to make a donation.
