The Peacehaven & Telscombe Regeneration partnership have spent a number of years working to get a Youth Shelter erected in the Town. Following consultation with the young people who attend the Joff Youth Centre and the local community school, as well as discussion with the ones who were hanging out in various sites in the Town, it was decided that the youth shelter should go in Meridian Park.
The same consultation found the chosen design and the colours.
On March 17th 2007 the Town Council took ownership of the shelter at the ‘Random Freefest 0.5’ a mini festival of activities including live bands, skateboarding and a barbeque.
