Peacehaven Theatre
Peacehaven no longer has a permanent Cinema, however, the Town Council do provide a programme of films throughout the year provided by the mobile Cinema facility - Cinemobile. The service was started in 2001 and is supported by a wide variety of people.
The majority of films are watched by a large audience and there are occasions when 2 showings have been required in order to keep up with demand.
Since the start of the Cinema, the need to improve the facilities has been a concern, so the Council, having failed to gain a Lottery grant, fitted racked seating to provide a better view of the film and to provide more comfort for the customer.
The improvements have not stopped there, the public were surveyed and their comments have been listened to and now there will be further improvements to the theatre facilities in the Town with a sound/projection room built to house the projector, lighting and sound equipment.
The excellent air conditioning ensures that the audience watch in comfort.
This will ensure that the theatre will be improved and the groups who use the facilities will be able to have improved sound and better lighting for their shows. The groups that use the facilities are Peacehaven Players, Harlequins Dance Studios and various local drama and operatic societies.
